No Place Like Home

Hospital food was good but not THAT good! We were pleased to leave the hospital with our new little guy at lunchtime today. There is much truth in the old saying that "there's no place like home".

Isaac is getting used to his new surroundings and his siblings are MORE than excited to have him around. Do the words over-stimulated mean anything to you? There is enough energy in this house to run the power-grid for a small island in the Pacific! We just can't get enough of this little guy... He's a keeper!

Now that we're home and back to 'normal' life, I'll do my best to keep up with the blog. Check back often as I hope to update at least once/week.

Cheers! Oh... and "GO SKINS!"
love,
gene

Isaac's Firsts

Along with his first breath, first cry, first glimpse of life in this world... Isaac had a few other "firsts" yesterday.

His first visit from his siblings (who just can't get enough)...

His first touch from Isabelle...

His first bath...

His first drink from a cup... (glucose mix due to low blood sugar)

His first snuggle-time with Mom...

His first "that's my boy" moment with Dad...

His first serenade from his proud sister, who sang "Good Night, Isaac" before departing the room...

And many more firsts yet to come...!

OMG! Not a Middle-Schooler!!

So... like we totally had a baby girl...like, IDK... 11 years ago... and now she's like in MIDDLE school. No way, dude!

OMG! When did that happen? Like, she has a gym locker... and a lock... and a uniform to wear. She's totally cute but WHOA!... those hormones (and the roller-coaster of emotions) create quite the ride.

So... she totally loves gymnastics, anything pink, and can recite all the lyrics to any Taylor Swift song. OMG! Did you just see the Jonas Brothers? They are SOOOOOO... cute!

Labor Day

Shorter days... Cooler mornings... Wide-ruled filler paper... Lost lunch money... All signs that Labor Day is near!

Summertime is coming to it's natural end and, this year, labor day has taken on new meaning for this family. Only a few days away, we thought we would celebrate early by welcoming a brand new baby into the chaos we know as... life.

August 26, 2008
6:15am - the alarm sounds (one last night of uninterrupted sleep, well for Gene anyhow!)
7:20am - kids are on the bus and headed off to school - little do they know we are on our way to the hospital!

10:15am - all settled into the room and INDUCTION has officially begun...

11:45am - Dr. Parshad arrived, checked on progress and broke Amy's water

1:00pm - Epidural is in place and Amy is resting!

3:15pm - Dilated to an 8 and will be ready to push soon!!

3:57pm - Isaac Terry Summers makes his debut! 6 lbs, 13.7 oz and 19.25" long...

He looks like he was cut from the exact same mold as the other three kiddos!! Amy was amazing and we are all thrilled for the UNeventful pregnancy and delivery.

Your thoughts, prayers, concerns and love have been a fortress for us. We can't thank you enough. We (all) love you!
